Get answers to frequently asked questions about our services, appointments, and recovery process

1

DO I HAVE TO BE AN ATHLETE TO BENEFIT FROM SPORTS MASSAGE?

No - you do not need to be a sportsperson to benefit from a sports massage. The treatment can also help relieve many day to day problems such as repetitive strain injury, sprains, work related tension and fatigue

2

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY APPOINTMENT?

Regardless of the treatment you've booked in for, your first appointment will start with a short consultation to establish your relevant medical history and treatment expectations. For treatment itself you may be asked to undress as far as you are comfortable. For sports massage you will mostly be lying down for treatment but it’s not entirely passive, you will be asked to move, stretch etc at times during the treatment.  For physiotherapy and injury rehabilitation appointments you may be asked to wear none restrictive clothing (i.e. shorts and tshirt) if applicable

3

HOW LONG SHOULD I BOOK FOR?

We offer 3 appointment lengths for Sports Massage:

  • 30mins - enough time to do one body region really well.  Best for those a little short on time

  • 60mins - the most popular massage slot. An hour allows plenty of time to work several areas, explore some deeper restrictions and generally take your massage to the next level

  • 90mins - if it’s quicker to list the bits that don’t hurt than the ones that do, this is the slot for you!

For First Time Physiotherapy appointments, we provide a 45minute slot, and then will discuss the suitable length required for follow up appointment(s) (this may be 30/45 or 60mins)
